Morpheus8™
Fractional radiofrequency microneedling for skin remodelling, texture and firmness.
Morpheus8™ combines controlled microneedling with fractional radiofrequency energy delivered at selected depths within the skin. The needles create precise treatment points while RF energy is delivered into the tissue, producing a controlled thermal response designed to support dermal remodelling and soft-tissue contraction.

Treatment information
More than microneedling alone
This makes Morpheus8 different from conventional microneedling alone. Traditional microneedling relies primarily on the mechanical action of the needles, whereas Morpheus8 adds controlled RF energy beneath the surface. The treatment depth and energy can be adjusted according to the treatment area, skin condition and intended outcome.
Treatment type
Minimally invasive fractional radiofrequency microneedling
Primary concerns
Skin laxity, uneven texture, selected acne scarring, fine lines and selected face/body concerns
Consultation
Required
Patch test
Required where clinically appropriate / according to clinic protocol
Downtime
Typically several days, depending on treatment intensity and area
Treatment planning
Not every concern requires the same depth or treatment intensity.
Morpheus8 may be considered for concerns including uneven skin texture, selected acne scarring, fine lines, mild-to-moderate skin laxity and selected face and body concerns.
However, not every concern requires the same depth or treatment intensity. The approach used around the eyes, face, neck or body can differ, which is why treatment planning is an important part of the procedure.
At Allure Passions UK, Morpheus8 is selected according to your skin, anatomy, concern, previous treatment history and tolerance for recovery, rather than being treated as a standard one-size-fits-all procedure.

Treatment overview
What is Morpheus8™?
Morpheus8 combines microneedling and fractional radiofrequency energy.
Fine needles penetrate the skin to a controlled depth. RF energy is then delivered through the needles into the targeted tissue.
The combination creates both a mechanical response from the needles and a controlled thermal response from radiofrequency energy.
The outcome of this is that it stimulates skin collagen and elastin from the deep layers of the skin.
stimulate a remodelling response within the treated tissue, including changes associated with collagen structure and soft-tissue contraction.

stimulate a remodelling response within the treated tissue, including changes associated with collagen structure and soft-tissue contraction. InMode describes Morpheus8 as a fractional RF technology intended for dermatological applications involving soft-tissue contraction/coagulation.
The important distinction is that the treatment is not simply microneedling with an RF attachment.
The RF energy is delivered within the tissue at selected depths, allowing the practitioner to tailor the treatment according to the anatomy and concern being addressed.
How it works
How does Morpheus8™ work?
01
Controlled needle penetration
The treatment begins with controlled needle penetration.
02
RF energy delivered
Once the needles reach the selected depth, RF energy is delivered into the tissue.
The RF energy creates controlled heating around the needle electrodes. This produces a thermal response within the treatment zones, while the needle penetration itself creates a mechanical stimulus.
03
Remodelling over time
The combination is designed to encourage tissue remodelling over time.
Adjustable depth
The depth for a facial texture concern is not necessarily the depth for a body area.
InMode’s current Morpheus8 platform includes interchangeable fractional tips and systems capable of delivering RF to multiple treatment depths. The manufacturer describes Morpheus8 Burst as capable of delivering bipolar RF at multi-level depths and programmable energy levels.
This ability to adjust the treatment is important because the depth required for a facial texture concern is not necessarily the same as the depth appropriate for a body area.
The technology
What does “fractional” mean?
Morpheus8 is a fractional treatment.
Rather than treating every millimetre of the skin continuously, the technology creates multiple controlled treatment points separated by areas of untreated tissue.
This allows the practitioner to create a controlled treatment response while retaining surrounding tissue that can contribute to the recovery process.
The number of passes, needle depth, energy and treatment pattern can vary according to the area and treatment objective. Published clinical protocols show different depths and energy settings being used for areas such as the face, neck and body.
This is one reason why Morpheus8 should not be approached as a fixed treatment where every patient receives exactly the same settings.
Concerns
What can Morpheus8™ treat?
01
Skin laxity & firmness
Morpheus8 can be considered when the concern involves mild-to-moderate skin laxity or loss of firmness.
The RF component provides controlled thermal energy within the tissue, supporting a remodelling response rather than relying solely on the mechanical action of microneedling.
The treatment is not a surgical facelift, and the degree of improvement depends on the amount and type of laxity present.
02
Uneven skin texture
Changes in skin texture can be influenced by collagen structure, ageing, previous inflammation and environmental exposure.
Fractional RF microneedling can be used to create controlled treatment zones within the skin, encouraging a resurfacing renewal there are so manyresponse that may improve the appearance and feel of selected textural concerns over time.
03
Acne scarring
Acne scars are not all structurally identical.
Rolling scars, boxcar scars and ice-pick scars can differ in depth, edges and their relationship with the underlying tissue.
This means that treating all acne scars with the same technique is not necessarily appropriate.
Morpheus8 can be considered for selected acne scars where controlled fractional treatment may help remodel the dermal structure and improve the appearance of uneven texture.
Assessment is particularly important because some scar types may require a different treatment or combination approach.
04
Fine lines
Fine lines are influenced by collagen changes, skin thickness, repeated facial movement and the natural ageing process.
Morpheus8 may be incorporated into a treatment plan where the objective is to improve selected textural changes and support dermal remodelling.
Understanding the skin
Why does skin become loose or uneven?
Skin changes naturally over time.
Collagen and elastin production changes with age, while repeated environmental exposure can contribute to changes in skin quality.
Other factors include:
- Genetics
- Sun exposure
- Natural ageing
- Hormonal changes
- Lifestyle
- Previous acne or inflammation
- Changes in body weight
- Skin structure
- Previous treatments
Acne scarring is different again because the skin has undergone an inflammatory process that can alter the underlying dermal structure.
Understanding why the skin looks the way it does helps determine whether Morpheus8 is appropriate and how aggressively it should be approached.
Comparison
Morpheus8™ vs conventional microneedling
Both treatments use needles to create a controlled response within the skin.
The major difference is what happens after the needles enter the tissue.
Mechanical
Conventional microneedling
Microneedling primarily relies on controlled mechanical needle penetration to stimulate a wound-healing response.
Mechanical + thermal
Morpheus8™
Morpheus8 combines the mechanical action of the needles with fractional RF energy delivered into the tissue.
This introduces a controlled thermal component in addition to the mechanical stimulus.
Therefore, the two treatments should not automatically be considered interchangeable.
For some patients, conventional microneedling may be appropriate. For others, the additional RF component of Morpheus8 may be considered more advanced when the treatment objective includes deeper tissue remodelling or contraction.
The appropriate choice depends on the concern, treatment area, skin condition and desired intensity.
The Allure Passions UK approach
Morpheus8 is not treated as a standard protocol
Before treatment, we consider:
- Skin type and condition
- Degree of skin laxity
- Skin texture
- Acne scarring and scar type
- Treatment area
- Previous procedures
- Previous response to treatments
- Current skincare
- Skin sensitivity
- Medical and treatment history
- Desired outcome
- Tolerance for downtime
- Whether Morpheus8 is the most appropriate technology
- Whether another treatment may be more suitable
- Whether combination treatment should be considered
The treatment depth, energy and treatment pattern are then selected according to the individual.
This is particularly important because facial anatomy, neck tissue and body tissue do not behave identically.
Optional
Can Morpheus8™ be combined with exosomes?
Morpheus8 + Exosomes — £150 add-on per session
Where clinically appropriate, exosomes may be discussed as a regenerative enhancement to a Morpheus8 treatment.
The combination should be presented as an optional treatment consideration rather than an automatic upgrade.
Suitability, product selection and the exact protocol should be confirmed by the practitioner during consultation.
Comfort
What does Morpheus8™ feel like?
Morpheus8 involves needle penetration combined with RF energy, so the sensation is different from non-invasive surface treatments.
A topical anaesthetic/numbing protocol may be used depending on the treatment area and treatment plan.
During treatment, you may experience:
- Pressure
- Prickling
- Heat
- Short pulses of warmth
- Localised sensitivity
The sensation can vary according to treatment depth, energy level and the area being treated.
After treatment, the skin can appear:
- Red
- Swollen
- Warm
- Sensitive
- Temporarily textured or raised around the treatment points
These responses can vary according to the intensity of treatment and the individual.

Recovery
Downtime & recovery
Morpheus8 involves needle penetration and RF energy delivery, so it is important to plan for some recovery.
Immediately following treatment, the skin may be red, swollen or sensitive and can have a temporarily textured appearance.
Published clinical protocols report downtime varying according to treatment area and energy delivered, with some facial protocols reporting several days of recovery.
Recovery can depend on:
- Treatment area
- Needle depth
- RF energy
- Number of passes
- Skin type
- Individual sensitivity
- Treatment intensity
Your practitioner will explain the expected recovery period before treatment.
Sessions
How many Morpheus8™ treatments will I need?
Morpheus8 can be performed as an individual treatment or as part of a planned course.
The appropriate number depends on:
- The treatment area
- Degree of laxity
- Scar type
- Skin condition
- Treatment intensity
- Desired outcome
- Individual response
For some concerns, a course of treatments may be recommended rather than relying on a single appointment.
Spacing between treatments also depends on the treatment protocol and area.
The objective is to allow the skin sufficient time to respond and remodel before the next treatment.
Results
Results timeline
Morpheus8 results develop progressively.
01
Immediately after treatment
The skin may appear red, swollen or temporarily textured.
This is the immediate response to the treatment rather than the final result.
02
Early recovery
As the initial inflammatory response settles, the skin begins to return towards its normal appearance.
03
Progressive remodelling
The longer-term changes develop as the skin undergoes its remodelling response.
This means improvement in firmness and texture should not be judged immediately after treatment.
04
After a course
Where multiple treatments are recommended, improvement can become more apparent progressively as each treatment contributes to the overall treatment plan.
What the research shows
A 2024 study in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology examined skin biopsies from four patients four weeks after a single Morpheus8 facial treatment. All showed increased collagen, elastin and blood vessels in the dermis. It was a small study and the authors call for larger trials; two of the four authors have ties to InMode, the device maker.

Longevity
How long do Morpheus8™ results last?
Morpheus8 results are not permanent because the skin continues to age after treatment.
The longevity of improvement depends on:
- Age
- Skin condition
- Degree of laxity
- Sun exposure
- Smoking
- Alcohol
- Stress
- Sleep
- Nutrition
- Hydration
- Hormonal changes
- Weight fluctuations
- Skincare
- Maintenance treatments
The treatment can support structural remodelling, but it does not stop the natural ageing process.
For this reason, maintenance and appropriate skincare can form an important part of a longer-term skin plan.
Your results
What can affect your results?
Skin condition
The starting condition of your skin influences the treatment approach and potential response.
Scar type
Different acne scars have different structures. Rolling, boxcar and ice-pick scars may require different strategies.
Treatment depth
The appropriate depth depends on the anatomy and treatment objective.
Treatment intensity
Higher energy or deeper treatment is not automatically appropriate for every patient.
Lifestyle
Sun exposure, smoking, alcohol, stress, sleep and nutrition can influence skin health and recovery.
Skincare
The products used before and after treatment can influence the skin barrier and recovery process.
Previous procedures
Recent laser treatments, peels, injectables or other procedures may affect when Morpheus8 can safely be performed.
Maintenance
The skin continues to age, so ongoing maintenance can influence how long improvements remain visible.
Treatment areas
Face, neck & body
Morpheus8™ for the face
Facial treatment requires careful consideration of anatomy.
Different areas of the face have different tissue thicknesses and structures, so treatment should not simply be performed at one uniform depth across the entire face.
The periorbital area, cheeks, lower face, jawline and other regions may require different approaches.
This is why practitioner-led treatment planning is important.
Morpheus8™ for the neck
The neck has different anatomy from the face and requires an appropriately selected treatment depth and energy level.
Morpheus8 may be considered where the concern involves skin texture or selected laxity, but the treatment plan should be based on the patient’s anatomy and the specific concern.
Morpheus8™ for the body
Morpheus8 can also be used for selected body areas.
The body treatment approach can differ considerably from facial treatment because tissue thickness and treatment objectives are different.
Areas that may be considered include:
- Arms
- Abdomen
- Buttocks
- Back of thighs
The appropriate treatment depth and energy depend on the area being treated.
