Two wavelengths, one controlled protocol
The 589 nm wavelength is particularly suited to vascular-focused treatment, while the 1319 nm wavelength can be incorporated into protocols addressing acne, skin texture and dermal rejuvenation. Because the treatment works beneath the surface without removing the outer layer of skin, ADVATx is fundamentally different from ablative resurfacing treatments.

Redness, however, is not a diagnosis in itself.
Persistent redness may be associated with visible vessels, inflammation, acne, environmental triggers, skin sensitivity or an underlying skin condition. This is why the reason behind the redness matters when deciding whether laser treatment is appropriate.
At Allure Passions UK, ADVATx is not selected simply because redness or acne is visible. Your skin history, sensitivity, previous treatments, current skincare, pattern of redness and the concern you want to improve are assessed first.
A consultation and patch test are required before treatment.

Treatment overview
What is ADVATx®?
ADVATx® is a dual-wavelength, non-ablative laser platform using 589 nm and 1319 nm wavelengths. Rather than relying on one wavelength for every concern, the system gives the practitioner different options for addressing vascular and dermal targets according to the condition being treated.
The 589 nm wavelength is selectively absorbed by oxyhaemoglobin, making it relevant to vascular concerns such as selected facial vessels, telangiectasias, redness and rosacea-related vascular changes. The wavelength can also form part of protocols for inflammatory acne.
The 1319 nm wavelength is primarily absorbed by water within the skin and can reach deeper dermal tissue. It can be incorporated into non-ablative resurfacing and rejuvenation protocols, while also providing controlled thermal energy around sebaceous structures in selected acne protocols.
This distinction matters because the visible concern on the surface is not necessarily the only target that needs to be considered.
ADVATx allows treatment to be approached according to the vascular, inflammatory or dermal component of the concern, rather than treating every complexion problem in exactly the same way.
Understanding redness
Why does redness occur?
Redness can have many different causes.
For some patients, the primary issue may be visible superficial vessels or telangiectasias. For others, redness may be associated with inflammatory acne, sensitivity or an underlying inflammatory skin condition.
Environmental exposure, heat, skincare products, previous treatments and lifestyle factors may also influence how reactive the skin appears.
This is why simply treating the colour of the skin is not always enough.
At consultation, we look at the pattern of redness, your skin history, previous procedures, current skincare and how your skin behaves before deciding whether ADVATx is appropriate.
If the appearance of redness suggests that another treatment, skincare strategy or medical assessment would be more appropriate, this should be identified before treatment rather than treating the symptom in isolation.
How it works
How does ADVATx® work?
ADVATx® uses two wavelengths that interact with different targets within the skin.
589NM
Vascular & inflammatory focus
The 589 nm wavelength is selectively absorbed by oxyhaemoglobin and can be used to target selected vascular concerns. This makes it relevant to visible facial vessels, telangiectasias and certain patterns of persistent redness. It can also form part of protocols for inflammatory acne.
1319NM
Dermal & rejuvenation focus
The 1319 nm wavelength is primarily absorbed by water and reaches deeper into the dermis. It can be used for non-ablative skin resurfacing and rejuvenation, supporting collagen-related remodelling without removing the skin’s surface.
Dual-wavelength protocols
A complementary approach for acne.
In acne protocols, the 1319 nm wavelength can also deliver controlled thermal energy around sebaceous structures, while the 589 nm wavelength addresses vascular and inflammatory components. Manufacturer information describes this as a complementary dual-wavelength approach.
The practitioner controls the treatment parameters according to the area, skin and concern being treated.
What makes it different
What makes ADVATx® different?
The significance of ADVATx is not simply that it is another laser.
Its dual-wavelength configuration allows the practitioner to approach different biological targets within the skin using one treatment platform.
A vascular concern may require a different approach from active inflammatory acne. Likewise, someone seeking overall complexion improvement may require a different protocol from someone presenting with clearly defined facial vessels.
ADVATx can therefore be incorporated into treatment plans where the practitioner needs to consider more than one component of the skin concern.
Ablative resurfacing
Surface removed
The surface of the skin is intentionally removed or significantly disrupted.
ADVATx®
Non-ablative
ADVATx is non-ablative, meaning the treatment works without removing the skin’s surface.
This can make it a useful option when the treatment objective is to address selected vascular, inflammatory or dermal concerns while keeping recovery comparatively limited.
Concerns
What can ADVATx® treat?
01
Visible facial vessels & telangiectasias
ADVATx may be considered for selected visible facial vessels and telangiectasias.
The 589 nm wavelength is absorbed by oxyhaemoglobin, allowing the practitioner to target vascular structures contributing to visible redness.
The exact approach depends on the number, distribution and appearance of the vessels, as well as your skin and treatment history.
02
Persistent-looking redness
Where vascular factors are contributing to visible facial redness, ADVATx may help reduce the appearance of selected vascular components.
However, persistent redness can have multiple causes. The presence of redness alone does not automatically make laser treatment appropriate.
This is why the consultation is an important part of the treatment rather than simply an administrative step before the laser.
03
Inflammatory acne
ADVATx can be incorporated into protocols for inflammatory acne.
The dual-wavelength approach allows the practitioner to consider both the vascular/inflammatory component and the sebaceous component of acne. The manufacturer describes 589 nm as targeting acne-associated inflammation and 1319 nm as delivering controlled thermal energy to sebaceous glands.
Clinical research has also investigated 589/1319 nm ADVATx treatment for acne erythema and inflammatory acne.
Acne is multifactorial, however, so laser treatment should be considered as part of an overall acne-management strategy rather than as a standalone answer for every patient.
04
Skin texture & rejuvenation
The 1319 nm wavelength can be incorporated into non-ablative rejuvenation protocols.
Rather than removing the surface of the skin, the objective is to deliver controlled energy within the dermis to encourage a biological remodelling response. Manufacturer information describes its use for collagen stimulation and non-ablative resurfacing.
This makes the treatment relevant to selected concerns involving texture, fine lines, pores and overall complexion quality.

At Allure Passions UK, we do not treat the machine. We treat the skin in front of us.
The Allure Passions UK approach
Your assessment
Before recommending ADVATx, your practitioner considers
- Your skin type and current skin condition
- The pattern and distribution of redness
- Visible vessels or telangiectasias
- Whether inflammation or acne is present
- Current skincare products
- Previous laser or aesthetic treatments
- Previous reactions to treatments
- Skin sensitivity and reactivity
- Lifestyle and environmental factors
- Your desired outcome
- How much recovery time you are comfortable with
- Whether another treatment may be more appropriate
- Whether ADVATx should form part of a combination treatment plan
This approach is particularly important with redness because the same visible symptom can have very different underlying contributors.
Required
Why skin assessment & patch testing matter
A consultation and patch test are required before ADVATx treatment.
The patch test provides an opportunity to assess how your skin responds before proceeding with a larger treatment area.
Your practitioner can use the consultation and patch-test process to consider your skin sensitivity, treatment history, current skincare and the specific concern being addressed.
This is particularly important when treating reactive or sensitive-looking skin.
The aim is not simply to establish whether the laser can be used, but to establish how it should be used for your skin.
Comfort
What does ADVATx® feel like?
ADVATx is generally described as a controlled laser treatment rather than an invasive procedure.
During treatment, you may experience:
- Warmth
- Light prickling
- Short pulses of sensation
- Localised heat
- Mild sensitivity
The sensation varies depending on the area being treated, the concern and the treatment parameters selected.
ADVATx also incorporates a sapphire-tip cooling system designed to improve patient comfort during treatment.
Your practitioner should explain what you can expect before treatment begins.
Your appointment
What happens during your appointment?
01
Consultation
Your skin, concerns, medical and treatment history are reviewed.
02
Skin assessment
The practitioner assesses the appearance and distribution of redness, vessels, acne or other concerns.
03
Patch test
A patch test is required before treatment.
This allows your skin response to be assessed before proceeding with the full treatment area.
04
Preparation
The treatment area is prepared according to the protocol. Any skincare restrictions or preparation instructions will be explained beforehand.
05
ADVATx® treatment
The practitioner delivers the selected wavelength and treatment parameters according to your skin and treatment objective.
06
Cooling & supportive care
Cooling or supportive post-treatment care may be provided where appropriate.
07
Aftercare
You will receive specific aftercare guidance, including skincare and sun-exposure advice where relevant.
Recovery
Downtime & recovery
ADVATx is a non-ablative treatment, so the surface of the skin is not removed.
The manufacturer describes the platform as having minimal or no social downtime, although temporary redness, sensitivity or swelling can occur depending on the treatment.
Your individual recovery depends on:
- Treatment area
- Wavelength used
- Treatment parameters
- Skin sensitivity
- The concern being treated
- Your individual response
Temporary redness following treatment does not necessarily indicate a problem. Your practitioner will explain the expected response and when you should contact the clinic if your skin behaves differently from what was anticipated.
Sessions
How many ADVATx® treatments will I need?
There is no single treatment schedule that is appropriate for every concern.
Some patients may notice a change following an individual treatment, while vascular, inflammatory acne and skin-rejuvenation concerns may benefit from a planned course of treatments.
The number of sessions depends on:
- The concern being treated
- Severity and extent
- Skin response
- Previous treatment
- Treatment area
- Desired outcome
- Whether ADVATx is being combined with other treatments
A course allows changes to be assessed progressively rather than assuming that one treatment will produce the complete outcome.
Your practitioner will explain the recommended treatment plan during consultation.
Results
Results: what should you expect?
ADVATx results should be viewed progressively rather than as an overnight transformation.
01
Immediately after treatment
The skin may appear temporarily red or sensitive. This is part of the immediate response to treatment and should settle according to your individual recovery.
02
Early changes
As the skin responds, you may begin to notice changes in the appearance of the treated concern.
03
During a treatment course
Where multiple sessions are recommended, improvement can become more apparent progressively as the skin responds to each treatment.
04
Longer term
For concerns such as redness and acne, results can also be influenced by ongoing triggers and the underlying condition of the skin.
This means treatment may work best when combined with appropriate skincare and a longer-term maintenance strategy.
Longevity
How long do ADVATx® results last?
The longevity of results depends heavily on what was being treated in the first place.
For example, reducing the appearance of selected facial vessels does not prevent new vessels from developing in the future.
Likewise, improvement in inflammatory acne can be affected by hormonal changes, skincare, lifestyle and the underlying tendency towards acne.
For complexion rejuvenation, the skin continues to age and respond to environmental exposure after treatment.
Factors that can influence longevity include:
- Sun exposure
- SPF use
- Smoking
- Alcohol
- Stress
- Sleep
- Nutrition
- Hydration
- Hormonal changes
- Skincare
- Acne management
- Environmental exposure
- Ongoing maintenance treatments
ADVATx should therefore be viewed as part of an ongoing skin-health strategy rather than a permanent correction.
Your results
What can affect your results?
Your response to ADVATx is individual.
Results can be influenced by:
Skin condition
Skin that is highly reactive or inflamed may require a different treatment strategy.
The cause of redness
Vascular redness may respond differently from redness associated with irritation or another underlying condition.
Treatment history
Previous laser, injectables, peels or other aesthetic treatments can influence treatment planning.
Current skincare
Active ingredients and treatments that affect the skin barrier may need to be adjusted around your appointment.
Lifestyle
Sun exposure, smoking, alcohol, stress and sleep can all influence skin quality and recovery.
Ongoing triggers
Acne and redness can be influenced by factors that continue after treatment.
Treatment adherence
Following preparation and aftercare instructions is an important part of the treatment process.

Combining treatments
Can ADVATx® be combined with other treatments?
Potentially, yes.
The appropriate combination depends entirely on the condition of your skin and what you are trying to achieve.
For example, ADVATx may form part of a broader plan where the primary concern involves vascular redness, acne, texture or complexion quality, while another treatment is selected for a different aspect of the skin.
At Allure Passions UK, combinations should be based on clinical rationale rather than simply adding treatments together.
The priority is to determine what your skin needs and whether combining treatments is appropriate at that stage.
Skin type
ADVATx® & skin of colour
Skin type is an important consideration whenever laser treatment is being planned.
ADVATx’s dual-wavelength system includes a 1319 nm wavelength that is primarily absorbed by water rather than melanin, and manufacturer information describes the platform as suitable for a broad range of skin types.
However, suitability is still individual.
A consultation and required patch test remain essential before proceeding, particularly when there is a history of pigmentation changes, sensitivity or previous adverse reactions.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Is ADVATx® suitable for redness?
It may be appropriate where vascular factors are contributing to visible redness. However, redness has multiple possible causes, so consultation and assessment are important before treatment.
Is ADVATx® the same as an ablative laser?
No. ADVATx is a non-ablative laser treatment. It delivers energy into the skin without removing the surface layer in the way ablative resurfacing treatments do.
Does ADVATx® hurt?
Treatment can feel warm or lightly prickly. The exact sensation varies according to the treatment area and settings. The system also incorporates a cooling sapphire tip to support patient comfort.
Is there any downtime?
ADVATx is designed as a low-downtime treatment, although temporary redness, sensitivity or swelling can occur. Your individual response depends on the treatment protocol and your skin.
Is a patch test required?
Yes. A patch test is required before ADVATx treatment at Allure Passions UK.
How many treatments will I need?
This depends on the concern being treated and how your skin responds. Some concerns may be approached with an individual treatment, while others may benefit from a planned course.
Can ADVATx treat acne?
ADVATx can be used in selected protocols for inflammatory acne. Its two wavelengths allow the practitioner to address different components of the condition, including vascular/inflammatory and sebaceous factors.
Can ADVATx treat facial thread veins?
Selected facial telangiectasias and visible vessels can be treated with vascular-focused protocols. Suitability depends on the individual vessel pattern and your skin.
Can ADVATx improve skin texture?
Selected 1319 nm protocols can be incorporated into non-ablative rejuvenation approaches targeting dermal remodelling and skin texture.
Will redness come back?
Treatment can reduce the appearance of selected vascular components, but it cannot necessarily prevent future redness or new vessels from developing. Ongoing triggers and the underlying cause remain important.
Can ADVATx be combined with other treatments?
Potentially. Combination treatments should only be recommended after assessing your skin and determining whether the treatments are appropriate together.
Do I need a consultation before ADVATx?
Yes. Consultation and patch testing are required. The aim is to establish whether ADVATx is appropriate and which treatment approach is suitable for your skin.
Book your consultation
Your ADVATx® consultation
The most important part of ADVATx treatment happens before the laser is used.
Your practitioner will assess your skin, understand what is causing the concern you want to address, review your previous treatments and skincare, complete the required patch test and determine whether ADVATx is appropriate.
The objective is not simply to reduce redness. It is to understand why the redness, vessels, inflammation or skin-quality concern is present, and determine where ADVATx fits within a longer-term plan for your skin.
